Itinerary

Day 1 Welcome To Cambodia!

Welcome to Siem Reap! Upon arrival, your guide will greet you at the airport and assist with transferring to your hotel for check-in. Please remember that the standard check-in time is 14:00.

In the afternoon, embark on a Half-Day City Tour. Your first stop will be Artisans D'Angkor, a local workshop dedicated to preserving Cambodian arts and crafts. Witness the intricate processes of wood and stone carving, lacquering, gilding, and silk painting. Next, visit Wat Thmei, a memorial stupa honoring the victims of the Khmer Rouge regime from 1975-1979, which houses skulls and bones of the deceased. Conclude your tour at The Old Market, the oldest Khmer market in Siem Reap, where you can explore stalls selling a variety of souvenirs like clothing and jewelry. Afterward, head to one of the city's most beautiful pagodas, known for its French colonial architecture and expansive garden filled with statues. Bring candles and incense sticks for a private blessing ceremony conducted by the resident monks, ensuring good fortune.

Return to your hotel to end the day.

Day 2 Siem Reap

At 8:00 am, you'll be picked up from your hotel to start the day’s exploration. Your first stop will be the South Gate, renowned for its enormous statues illustrating the churning of the ocean of milk, followed by a visit to Angkor Thom, the ancient capital built in the late 12th century. From there, proceed to the Bayon Temple, famous for its 54 towers adorned with over 200 smiling faces of Avalokitesvara. Next, explore the Baphuon Temple, a man-made mountain recently reopened after extensive restoration. You’ll also have the chance to see the Royal Enclosure, the Elephant Terrace, and the Terrace of the Leper King. Continue to Ta Prohm, a temple dating from the late 12th to early 13th centuries, which gained fame as a filming location for the Tomb Raider movie.

Enjoy a traditional Khmer lunch at a local restaurant. Afterward, visit the awe-inspiring Angkor Wat Temple, the largest religious monument in the world and the centerpiece of Angkor Park. Inside, marvel at the stunning stone carvings and bas-reliefs, while your guide provides insights into their historical and cultural significance, giving you time to explore both the inner and outer areas of the temple.

To cap off your evening in Siem Reap, attend a performance by the Cambodian Traditional Circus. More than just a circus, Phare combines theater, music, dance, and modern circus arts to narrate Cambodian stories—historical, folk, and contemporary. The young artists will captivate you with their vibrant energy, emotion, and skill. After the show, return to your hotel.

Day 3 Siem Reap

At 8:30 am, we'll embark on a journey to Tonle Sap Lake, where you'll explore various aspects of life in the floating village. Discover activities such as crocodile farming, fishing, traditional medicine practices, boat building, spirit houses, and floating schools. Following this, you'll be taken to Wat Preah Prom Rath, a modern temple and monastery with a history of 500 years, located in the heart of Siem Reap.

Enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, your adventure continues at the Angkor National Museum, dedicated to the collection, preservation, and display of Angkorian artifacts from the Khmer Empire's Angkor period (9th to 14th centuries). Most of the exhibits are sourced from the Angkor archaeological sites. Next, visit the Angkor Silk Farm, situated 16 km from Siem Reap, where you'll see silk production processes and enjoy the exhibitions showcasing the craftsmanship involved. Finally, conclude your tour at West Baray, the largest artificial reservoir in Angkor Park, measuring 8 x 2.2 km. Historically, the Baray was fed by water from the Siem Reap and Puok Rivers.

Day 4 Siem Reap-Battambang

Venture out of Siem Reap to a rural village and enjoy an authentic Ox-Cart ride, offering a unique glimpse into traditional Cambodian life and culture. Experience the local market, view traditional homes, and traverse the countryside and rice fields with the assistance of a local guide. Afterwards, head to Battambang with a lunch stop at a local restaurant along the way. The drive takes approximately 4 hours.

In the afternoon, explore Phnom Sampov, or 'Ship Mountain,' named for its ship-like appearance. This 100-meter-high mountain, crowned by Wat Sampeou, features three natural caves—Pkasla, Lakhaon, and Aksopheak—each adorned with Buddhist shrines and statues. The Pkasla cave, notable for its displaced stones, is a significant site where locals celebrate marriages. Some of the caves were also used as execution sites by the Khmer Rouge. Enjoy refreshments, including fresh coconut and snacks, and witness the spectacular sight of millions of bats emerging from the caves around 18:00, creating a dark, flowing ribbon across the sky. Afterward, return to your hotel to conclude the day.

Day 5 Battambang

This morning, embark on a Remork (Tuk Tuk) tour around the village, hopping from one spot to another to discover local products such as rice paper—a staple in Asian cuisine—dried bananas, and rice wine, a sweet and smooth homemade liquor. Experience the unique nori ride, an improvised rail vehicle from Cambodia, and enjoy an adventurous Bamboo Train ride along a newly laid railway track, offering views of picturesque rice fields and local villages.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

Next, visit the Banan Temple, where the architectural styles of the mid-11th and late 12th centuries blend. Initially constructed by King Ut Tak Yea Tit Tya Varman II (1050-1066) and completed by King Jayavarman VII (1181-1219), this temple sits atop a mountain approximately 400 meters high.

Return to your hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening at your leisure.

Day 6 Battambang-Phnom Penh

This morning, you'll enjoy a private transfer to Phnom Penh, with the journey lasting around 5 hours, depending on traffic conditions. En route, you'll visit Kampong Chhnang to explore local pottery-making. Many families here craft pottery in their homes, and you'll have the opportunity to observe their techniques. You'll also stop by the well-organized cooperative workshop at the base of Phnom Meas Hill.

After lunch at a local restaurant, you'll proceed to Phnom Oudong. Here, you'll hike to the summit of Oudong Mountain, where you can take in the sweeping views of the Cambodian countryside and explore ancient stupas dedicated to past kings and royalty. Your guide will share insights into significant historical events from centuries past.

Following this, you'll be transferred to your hotel for check-in. The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at your leisure.

Day 7 Phnom Penh

Embark on a tour of Phnom Penh starting at 8:00 am, where you'll be greeted by your driver and guide. Begin with a visit to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, a former school that was repurposed as a detention center during the Khmer Rouge era, offering a profound look into Cambodia’s tragic recent history. Continue to the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek, another significant site for understanding the country’s past. These visits are deeply moving but essential for grasping the historical context.

The afternoon lightens up with a trip to the Russian Market, the largest market in Cambodia, where you can browse a wide range of items from carvings and jewelry to clothing and souvenirs. Enjoy a traditional Khmer lunch at a local restaurant.

Later, visit Wat Phnom, a picturesque temple perched on a hill with well-maintained gardens, followed by a tour of the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda. The pagoda is renowned for its 5,000 silver tiles and its impressive collection of Buddha statues made from gold, silver, crystal, and bronze.

End the day with a relaxing sunset cruise along the Mekong River before heading back to your hotel.

Day 8 Phnom Penh - Sihanoukville

At 08:00 am, start your day at the Independence Monument, inspired by the central tower of Angkor Wat. Erected in 1958, this monument honors Cambodia's independence from France in 1953 and serves as a tribute to the nation's war casualties, with wreaths placed here on national holidays. Next, visit Wat Lanka, one of Phnom Penh's oldest pagodas, originally established as a refuge for sacred texts and a meeting point for Cambodian and Sri Lankan monks.

Proceed to Boeung Keng Kang Market, a favorite among young Cambodians for its trendy and affordable fashion. The market also features stalls with vintage clothing, shoes, and bags from various parts of Asia. Continue your exploration at the Russian Market, named for the large number of Russian expatriates who frequented it in the 1980s. This market is renowned for its wood and stone carvings, jewelry, clothing, and Cambodian silk souvenirs. While the authenticity of some branded items may vary, it’s a fun place to shop.

After enjoying lunch at a local restaurant, you’ll take a private transfer to Sihanoukville. The journey takes approximately 4 hours, depending on traffic conditions. Upon arrival, head directly to your hotel for check-in, and enjoy the remainder of the day at your leisure.
