Welcome to Siem Reap! When you land, your guide will greet you at the airport and help with your transfer to the hotel. Standard check-in begins at 2:00 PM. If you arrive earlier, you might have the option to join an additional tour to make the most of your day.
At 08:30 AM, your tour will begin at the Angkor National Museum, an archaeological museum focused on the collection, preservation, and display of artifacts from the Angkorian era. The museum showcases items primarily from the Khmer Empire’s Angkor period, spanning the 9th to 14th centuries, many of which were uncovered at nearby Angkor archaeological sites. Next, your guide will take you back in time to the earliest Angkorian capital, Bakong. Here, you’ll explore the grand temple-mountain architecture, complete with a scenic moat and lush surroundings. Visit the pagoda for a traditional monk blessing, where a local monk will perform a ceremonial ritual to bestow good fortune and success.
Following lunch at a local restaurant, you’ll head to Tonle Sap Lake to observe various floating village activities, including crocodile farming, fishing, traditional medicine shops, boat-building, and floating schools. The visit also includes a stop at Artisans D’ Angkor, a local artisan workshop dedicated to preserving Cambodian arts and crafts. Witness the intricate processes of wood and stone carving, lacquering, gilding, and silk painting.
To conclude your stay in Siem Reap, enjoy a performance at the Cambodian Traditional Circus. Phare Circus combines theater, music, dance, and contemporary circus skills to tell uniquely Cambodian stories, both historical and modern. The vibrant young performers will captivate you with their incredible energy, emotion, and talent.
Embark on a full-day tour to discover the scenic wonders of Phnom Kulen. We will pick you up from your hotel lobby at 8:00 AM for a 2-hour drive through the Cambodian countryside to reach our first destination. Phnom Kulen, revered by Khmers as Cambodia's most sacred mountain and a popular pilgrimage site, offers several highlights. You'll be able to take in stunning views from the enormous reclining Buddha, the largest of its kind in the country. Visit the “River of a Thousand Lingas,” where sacred lingas are carved into the riverbed, and enjoy the refreshing Phnom Kulen waterfalls. Feel free to take a swim in the cool waters and explore the nearby temple ruins. A picnic lunch will be provided on the mountain before we head back to town.
On our return journey, we will stop at the temple ruins of Banteay Srei and Banteay Samre. Banteay Srei, often hailed as one of Angkor’s most exquisite temples, is constructed from red sandstone, giving it a distinctive pink hue and showcasing intricate carvings. Next, we’ll visit Banteay Samre, a Hindu temple built during the early 12th century under the reigns of Suryavarman II and Yasovarman II, exemplifying the classic Angkor Wat architectural style.
Start your day early at 5:00 AM to witness the breathtaking sunrise at the world-renowned Angkor Wat. Afterward, explore the interior of Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument globally and the most revered temple within Angkor Park. Marvel at the intricate stone carvings and bas-reliefs that adorn the temple walls. Your guide will share the stories behind these detailed artworks and give you time to explore both the inner and outer areas of the temple. Return to the hotel for breakfast and some relaxation. Lunch is at your own expense.
In the afternoon, visit the South Gate, where you'll see impressive statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk, and explore the ancient city of Angkor Thom, established in the late 12th century. Continue to the Bayon Temple, known for its 54 towers adorned with over 200 serene faces of Avalokitesvara. Next, explore Baphuon, a reconstructed temple resembling an artificial mountain. Proceed to the Royal Enclosure, the Terrace of the Elephants, and the Terrace of the Leper King. Finally, visit Ta Prohm, famously known as the filming location for the Tomb Raider movie, built during the late 12th to early 13th centuries.
Conclude your day with a dinner featuring an Apsara Dance Show before returning to your hotel.
Enjoy a leisurely stroll or pick up some final souvenirs before checking out at noon. Your driver will be on hand to help with your luggage and transport you to the airport for your departure flight.
We look forward to hosting you again in the future!
