Welcome to Siem Reap! Upon arrival, your guide will greet you at the airport and assist with your transfer to the hotel for check-in. Please note that check-in time is at 14:00.
In the afternoon, embark on a Half-Day City Tour. Begin with a visit to Artisans D’ Angkor, a local workshop dedicated to promoting Cambodian arts and crafts. Here, you'll see the processes behind wood and stone carvings, lacquering, gilding, and silk painting. Next, visit Wat Thmei, a memorial stupa commemorating the victims of the Khmer Rouge regime from 1975 to 1979, where you can see the skulls and bones of those who perished. Then, head to The Old Market, the oldest Khmer market in Siem Reap, where vendors offer a variety of souvenirs, including clothing and jewelry. Following this, you'll visit one of the most beautiful pagodas in town, known for its French colonial architecture and large garden filled with statues. Bring candles and incense sticks to participate in a private blessing ceremony performed by local monks.
Return to your hotel to conclude your day.
At 8:00 am, you will be picked up from your hotel to start the day's tour. The first stop is the South Gate, where you'll admire its massive statues illustrating the churning of the ocean of milk, and explore the ancient city of Angkor Thom, established in the late 12th century. From there, proceed to Bayon Temple, renowned for its 54 towers adorned with over 200 smiling faces of Avalokitesvara. Next, visit Baphuon, a striking artificial mountain that has recently reopened after extensive restoration.
The tour continues with a visit to the Royal Enclosure, the Terrace of the Elephants, and the Terrace of the Leper King. Afterward, explore Ta Prohm Temple, known for its appearances in the Tomb Raider film, and built between the late 12th and early 13th centuries.
After a break for lunch on your own, the tour resumes with a visit to the awe-inspiring Angkor Wat Temple, the most revered site in Angkor Park and the largest religious monument in the world. Inside, the walls are covered with stunning stone carvings and bas-reliefs. Your guide will share stories behind these exquisite details and allow you plenty of time to explore both the interior and exterior of the temple.
Today, you'll travel to Phnom Penh City by either bus or flight. The bus journey takes about 6 hours, while the flight is approximately 1 hour.
Upon arrival in Phnom Penh, your guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel for check-in. Please note that the standard check-in time is 14:00.
In the afternoon, your tour will begin with a visit to the Central Market, an iconic structure built in 1937 during the French colonial era. This bustling market offers a variety of goods, including gold and silver jewelry, electronics, clothing, imitation watches and bags, suitcases, as well as dried and fresh foods. Next, visit Wat Lanka, one of Phnom Penh's oldest pagodas, which was founded as a sanctuary for sacred texts and as a meeting place for Cambodian and Sri Lankan monks. Continue to the Independence Monument, inspired by the central tower of Angkor Wat, which was erected in 1958 to celebrate Cambodia’s independence from France in 1953 and serves as a memorial to the country's war dead. Finally, explore the 68,000-square-meter Aeon Mall, featuring brand stores like Sheridan, Mango, Levi’s, and Adidas, along with an extensive food court on the top floor. The mall also boasts a modern entertainment complex, including a cinema, karaoke lounge, bowling alley, arcades, and even an ice skating rink. Enjoy dinner before returning to your hotel.
Embark on a discovery tour of Phnom Penh starting at 8:00 am, when your driver and guide will meet you. Begin by delving into Cambodia's somber history with a visit to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, a former school turned detention center during the Khmer Rouge era. Continue to the Choeung Ek Killing Fields, a poignant site crucial for understanding the country's past. After these intense visits, shift to a more relaxed afternoon exploring the Russian Market, Cambodia's largest, offering a wide range of goods from carvings and jewelry to clothing and souvenirs. Enjoy a delicious Khmer lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit Wat Phnom, an elegant temple perched on a hill with beautifully maintained gardens. Next, explore the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda, renowned for its 5,000 silver tiles and impressive collection of gold, silver, crystal, and bronze Buddha statues.
Conclude the day with a serene sunset cruise on the Mekong River before heading back to your hotel.
Before checking out at noon, take a leisurely stroll or pick up any last-minute souvenirs. Your driver will be there to help with your luggage and transport you to the airport for your departing flight.
