Welcome to Siem Reap! When you arrive at the airport, your guide will greet you and help with the transfer to your hotel for check-in. Please be aware that the standard check-in time is 14:00. Depending on your arrival time, you might have the option to join an additional tour.
At 8:00 am, you'll be picked up from your hotel to begin your day's exploration. Start with a visit to the South Gate, where you'll see impressive statues representing the churning of the ocean of milk, and explore the ancient city of Angkor Thom, established in the late 12th century. From there, proceed to Bayon Temple, renowned for its 54 towers adorned with over 200 serene faces of Avalokitesvara. Next, visit Baphuon, an artificial mountain recently reopened after extensive restoration.
You may also tour the Royal Enclosure, the Elephant Terrace, and the Terrace of the Leper King. Continue to the well-known Ta Prohm Temple, which dates from the late 12th to early 13th centuries and gained fame as the filming location for the Tomb Raider movie.
After lunch, head to the magnificent Angkor Wat Temple, the largest religious monument in the world and the centerpiece of Angkor Park. Inside, the temple’s walls are covered with stunning stone carvings and bas-reliefs. Your guide will share the stories behind these intricate details and provide you with plenty of time to explore both the inner and outer areas of the temple. Conclude the day with a return to your hotel.
Your day blending history and modernity starts with a pick-up from your hotel at 8:30 am. The morning features visits to two notable temples: Banteay Samre and Banteay Srei. Banteay Samre, constructed in the early 12th century under Suryavarman II and Yasovarman II, is a Hindu temple in the Angkor Wat style. Following this, you'll explore Banteay Srei, renowned for its stunning red sandstone and intricate carvings, often regarded as one of Angkor’s most beautiful temples. After this temple tour, take a break and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, journey to Tonle Sap Lake to explore the floating village and its various activities, including crocodile farming, fishing farms, traditional medicine shops, boat workshops, spirit houses, and floating schools. Your final stop is Artisans D’ Angkor, a local artisan center dedicated to preserving Cambodian arts and crafts. Here, you'll see the creation of wood and stone carvings, lacquering, gilding, and silk paintings.
To cap off your evening in Siem Reap, attend a performance of the Cambodian Traditional Circus. This is not just a circus but a vibrant blend of theater, music, dance, and modern circus arts, showcasing uniquely Cambodian stories, whether historical, folk, or contemporary. The young performers will impress you with their remarkable energy, emotion, and skill.
Embark on a day of exploration in Phnom Penh starting at 8:00 am, when your driver and guide will greet you. Begin with a visit to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, a former school turned detention center during the Khmer Rouge era, to gain a deeper understanding of Cambodia’s recent tragic history. The tour continues with a visit to the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek, a sobering but significant site that provides insight into the country's past.
In the afternoon, shift gears to a more relaxed experience with a trip to the Russian Market, the largest market in Cambodia, where you can find a wide range of items including carvings, jewelry, clothing, and souvenirs. Enjoy a delicious lunch featuring Khmer cuisine at a local restaurant.
Next, visit Wat Phnom, a picturesque hilltop temple surrounded by well-kept gardens, followed by a tour of the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda. The pagoda, named for its 5,000 silver tiles, is renowned for its impressive collection of gold, silver, crystal, and bronze Buddha statues. The day concludes with a scenic sunset cruise on the Mekong River before heading back to your hotel.
Enjoy a final stroll or pick up any last-minute souvenirs before checking out at midday. Your driver will be on hand to help with your luggage and transport you to the airport for your departing flight.
