Arrival pick-up at Da Nang International Airport, followed by a comfortable transfer to your chosen hotel. Spend the night in Da Nang.
Our journey will commence from Da Nang as we make our way to Quang Tri Province. En route, we will pause at various historical battle sites, including the Quang Tri Citadel, Ben Hai River, Hien Luong Bridge, and the Seventeenth Parallel—the erstwhile dividing line between North and South Vietnam during the war. In the afternoon, an exploration of the Vinh Moc Tunnels awaits, revealing the living and fighting quarters of North Vietnamese guerrilla fighters. Our route then leads us to Dong Hoi, where we'll check into the hotel and unwind for the night. Overnight stay in Quang Binh.
Embarking on a journey to Paradise Cave. This remarkable cavern, unearthed by scientists from the British Caving Research Association in 2005, boasts a staggering length of 31 kilometers, earning it the distinction of being the lengthiest dry cave in Asia. As visitors traverse through an ancient forest, they will be greeted by the entrance to the cave, framed by century-old trees, leading to the awe-inspiring spectacle within. The cave showcases a series of white crystal stalactites, resembling glass pillars, and an array of other breathtaking formations naturally sculpted over millions of years, creating the illusion of an enchanted kingdom. Conclude the day with an overnight stay in Hue.
Explore the Citadel, the primary allure of Hue, encompassing the Imperial City, the Forbidden Purple City, and the Emperor's Private Residence. Constructed from 1804 to 1833 during the Nguyen Dynasty, the last feudal kingdom in Vietnam, the Hue Citadel boasts a 2-kilometer fortified rampart and is encircled by a protective moat. Inside this historical complex, diverse architectural marvels await, including Imperial City Gates, the Purple Forbidden City, temples, pavilions, gardens, and more.
After a brief lunch pause, embark on a scenic boat journey along the Perfume River, with a stop at Thien Mu Pagoda, an active Buddhist monastery with roots tracing back to 1601. Notably, the pagoda houses a car once belonging to a former monk who, in 1963, drove to Saigon and self-immolated in protest against the South Vietnamese regime's harsh treatment of Buddhist monks and followers. The day concludes with a visit to the tranquil Khai Dinh Royal Tomb, meticulously designed to harmonize with its natural surroundings and constructed based on feng-shui principles. Rest for the night in Hoi An.
Explore the countryside of Hoi An and savor its local delicacies on a bicycle excursion. The local cuisine of Hoi An, once discovered, becomes a delight for visitors. These culinary delights are not only popular throughout Hoi An but are also considered distinctive symbols of the local culture, warmly embraced by every traveler. Our journey takes us to a local eatery to indulge in a Hoi An specialty - Cao Lau. Following this, we pedal through the scenic countryside to Tra Que Village, where you'll have the opportunity to learn the art of crafting special "white rose" dumpling cakes with a local family and savor your delectable creations. Our biking adventure continues to Cam Nam, where you'll relish the Yin and Yang-inspired cuisine, including Banh Dap ("cracked or smashed rice pancake") and Che Bap ("corn and coconut sweet soup").
In the afternoon, a visit to the My Son Sanctuary is a not-to-be-missed experience. Nestled in a picturesque valley and surrounded by towering mountain ranges, My Son earned its designation as a UNESCO Cultural Heritage site in 1999. Stroll through the remnants of the lost Champa Kingdom dating back to the 3rd century, explore the ancient temples, and delve into the captivating history of this Hindu sanctuary. Conclude the day with an overnight stay in Hoi An.
