Later this evening, enjoy a delightful dinner at Karaweik Palace, offering panoramic views of the Royal Lake and Shwedagon Pagoda. Indulge in a feast of authentic Burmese cuisine accompanied by a captivating cultural performance.
We will assist you in transferring to Mandalay and arranging your accommodation upon arrival. Known as Myanmar's center of Buddhism, Mandalay is renowned for its stupas, monks, and monastic life. One of the highlights will be observing monks during their worship and meals. Our first destination is Amarapura, famed for the Mahagandayon Monastery, offering a profound glimpse into monk life in Mandalay. Next, we'll visit Sagaing Hill to learn about monk education, explore Buddha Cave, Uminthonze Pagoda, Sunooponnyashin Pagoda, and enjoy a panoramic view of Mandalay. We'll then stroll across the Ubein Wooden Bridge, the world's longest teak bridge, and conclude the day with a boat trip on Taungthaman Lake to witness a breathtaking sunset.
Set sail on a private boat from Mandalay Pier and head upstream to explore Mingun, renowned for its massive and unfinished Pahtodawgyi Pagoda, the 90-ton Mingun Bell, and Settawya Paya, as well as Hsinbyume Pagoda. In the afternoon, we’ll tour Mandalay Palace and Shwenandaw Monastery, celebrated for its stunning wood carvings. We'll also visit the gold leaf beating workshop and Kuthodaw Pagoda, famous for housing the world’s largest book. Conclude your day at Mandalay Hill to enjoy the sunset and take in breathtaking views of the city.
We will assist you in boarding your flight to Bagan and arrange your transfer to the hotel. Your exploration of Bagan will begin with a visit to Shwezigon Pagoda, which is said to house a relic of Gautama Buddha’s bone and tooth. You will also see Ananda and Sulamani Temples. In the afternoon, take a delightful horse cart ride to one of Bagan's largest temples, Nan Paya Pagoda, along with several other fascinating sites in the area. Finally, you will visit the renowned ShweSandaw Pagoda.
After breakfast, we will head to a local village, where you will be greeted with a cup of green tea. Your chef will guide you through the kitchen and explain the ingredients we will purchase today at the market. Together, we’ll visit the “Nyaung U Market” to buy fresh vegetables and either fish or meat. Once back in the kitchen, our chef will demonstrate how to prepare our dishes. The meals from our cooking class will showcase authentic Burmese flavors and be truly delicious. After cooking, you’ll have the chance to enjoy the dishes you've prepared.
In the afternoon, we’ll transfer to the Bagan boat jetty. Board a private riverboat and cruise upriver toward Kyauk Gu U Min. As you glide along the Irrawaddy River, take in the vibrant scenes of life on the water: fishermen, local ferries, riverside communities, and views of the Bagan temples. After exploring Kyauk Gu U Min, you’ll return to the boat to unwind and savor the sunset on your way back to Bagan.
