Welcome to the second day of our thrilling adventure in Bangkok! Today, we'll embark on a short journey across the Chao Phraya River to the captivating Bang Kra Jao, a hidden gem that will transport you back in time. This serene enclave is a maze of waterways, charming villages, temples, and lush tropical jungle. Surprisingly, despite its proximity to the city, there's no traffic, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the tranquility of this unique oasis. As we pedal through local communities, temples, and schools, we'll make a delightful stop at a river pier opposite Thailand's naval academy for a refreshing snack. Our next destination is a captivating temple, dating back over 250 years to the Ayutthaya period, adorned with a magnificent teak wood roof and intricately painted windows and shutters in the ancient Mon style. Our cycling route continues to the peaceful Sri Narkon Park, where we'll savor a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Afterward, we'll return to the hotel for some well-deserved relaxation. Here, we will bid farewell to our dedicated support team from Thailand and greet our new hosts who will accompany us for the remainder of the journey in Cambodia. As we complete the necessary visa formalities, we begin our exciting adventure into the captivating land of Cambodia. Our drive to Siem Reap, the gateway town to the awe-inspiring Khmer temples of Angkor, will take approximately 4 hours. En route, we will make a stop at the Pourk silk farm, where you can witness the intricate process of silk production from its inception to the final product. Upon arrival in Siem Reap, we will check into our comfortable 4-star hotel and have some time to explore the remarkable Bayon Temple and the South Gate of Angkor Thom, where we will witness a breathtaking sunset. Our next stop is the enchanting Tra Su Forest, a nature lover's paradise adorned with lush water hyacinths and delicate water lilies. To explore this captivating forest, we hop on motorized boats that navigate through its serene waterways. The breathtaking scenery and abundant wildlife offer a truly memorable experience.
