Itinerary

Day 1 ARRIVAL BANGKOK

Upon your arrival at Bangkok International Airport, a tour representative will welcome you and escort you to your hotel. The remainder of the day is yours to freely explore this vibrant city. You may want to treat yourself to a traditional Thai massage, savor the incredible local cuisine, or unwind with a sunset view at one of the trendy rooftop bars that have emerged in the city's skyline. The possibilities are endless! You'll spend the night in Bangkok.

Day 2 HALF-DAY ROYAL GRAND PALACE AND TEMPLE TOUR

Today's itinerary features three of Bangkok's most significant Buddhist temples. First, you'll visit Wat Traimit, known for its Golden Buddha—a stunning 3-meter statue crafted entirely from solid gold, weighing 5.5 tonnes. From there, you'll travel through Chinatown en route to Wat Pho, home of the Reclining Buddha. This impressive statue measures 46 meters in length and 15 meters in height, making it the largest in Bangkok, symbolizing the Buddha's transition into nirvana. Next, explore the Grand Palace, a magnificent example of ancient Siamese architecture that once served as the residence of Bangkok's kings (note that it may be closed during royal ceremonies and visits from heads of state). Here, you’ll discover various palaces used for different royal functions, including the Funeral Palace, Reception Palace, Throne Hall, Coronation Hall, and the Royal Guest House, along with Wat Phra Keo, the stunning Emerald Buddha Temple. To conclude your tour, visit a local lapidary factory and showroom where you can find competitively priced locally crafted jewelry, handicrafts, and silk. You will spend the night in Bangkok based on your selected accommodation plan.

Day 3 RAILWAY MARKET AND DAMNERN SADUAK FLOATING MARKET

Depart from Bangkok and make your way to the Maeklong Railway Market, also known as Talad Rom Hoop. Upon your arrival, the guide will share insights about the history of this unique location. Witness the thrilling spectacle as the train passes through the bustling market—an event that unfolds in just moments and offers a truly remarkable experience. Next, you'll visit the renowned floating market of Damnoen Saduak. This vibrant market features numerous colorful vendors who navigate the crowded canals in sturdy boats filled with fresh produce, ready to sell to shoppers along the banks. It’s an exciting opportunity to immerse yourself in local culture and engage in some fun bargaining. Afterward, you will transfer back to Bangkok, where you’ll spend the night based on your selected accommodation options.

Day 4 BANGKOK – CHIANG MAI

Upon your arrival in Chiang Mai, you will be transferred to your hotel before a pick-up at 13:30 for a guided exploration of the old town and its prominent temples. Start with a visit to the historic Wat Suan Dok, where you can admire the impressive 48-meter Sri Lankan-style chedi that overlooks the Royal Cemetery. Next, head to Wat Phra Sing, a large complex featuring over 60 buildings that showcases stunning architecture. Continue your journey to the 14th-century Wat Chedi Luang, located in the center of the old city. This ancient temple, with its rustic charm, has undergone restoration after years of deterioration. You will also explore the nearby Wat Chet Yot, which shows signs of age, and Wat Chiang Man, known for its striking elephant sculptures. Spend the night in Chiang Mai, choosing from the available accommodation options.

Day 5 CHIANG MAI

Your journey includes a visit to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, where you can take in breathtaking panoramic views of the city. To reach the temple, you can ascend the 309-step naga staircase or opt for the cable car (included). While the views are spectacular, the temple itself is even more impressive, featuring a variety of stunning structures. Next, explore the vibrant Wararot Market, a historic site famous for its diverse and high-quality produce, followed by a visit to the aromatic flower market. In the evening, savor a khantoke dinner—a traditional northern Thai feast—accompanied by cultural performances inspired by the Lanna kingdom, which thrived in northern Thailand for nearly five centuries. Enjoy your overnight stay in Chiang Mai, with your choice of accommodation options.

Day 6 CHIANG MAI – CHIANG RAI

Venture into the jungle for an introduction to Thailand’s national animal at the Thai Elephant Care Centre. This facility was created to care for retired elephants from logging and camps. You'll have the chance to admire these gentle creatures while learning about their personalities, lifestyles, and unique talents. If the timing is right, you might even witness their playful antics during bath time.

Following lunch, travel via Doi Saket and make a stop at Wat Rong Khun, commonly known as the 'White Temple.' Constructed in the 1990s, this stunning temple features a striking all-white exterior adorned with mirrored fragments, giving it a dazzling effect and earning its reputation as one of Thailand's most beautiful temples. Arrive in Chiang Rai in the afternoon and transfer to your accommodation for the night, with your choice of board options.

Day 7 CHIANG RAI – GOLDEN TRIANGLE – DEPART CHIANG RAI

After breakfast and checking out of the hotel, head to Chiang Sean for a breathtaking view of the Golden Triangle, where Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand converge, and where the impressive Mekong River flows. Board a boat for a 30-minute ride to explore this iconic area. Following the boat trip, savor lunch at the Imperial Golden Triangle Resort before your transfer to Chiang Rai Airport.
