Battambang, Cambodia's second-largest city, is renowned as a UNESCO-designated City of Performing Arts. It boasts a rich tapestry of ancient Khmer houses, pagodas, temples, and French colonial architecture that grace the city and its surroundings. Your first stop is Kampong Chhnang, a traditional pottery community where you can witness skilled artisans crafting beautiful pottery in numerous kilns. Continue your journey to Kompong Luong, where you'll board a local boat to explore the unique floating village and experience the local way of life. Proceed to Battambang and check in at your hotel. Along the way, you'll also have the opportunity to witness the local production of rice paper, prahoc (Cambodian fish paste), and grolan (sticky rice stuffed in bamboo), gaining insights into traditional culinary practices. Next, embark on a unique experience by riding the Bamboo Train, a mode of transport ingeniously set up by the villagers. Known as Nori, this bamboo platform on wheels, propelled by a small motor, allows you to immerse yourself in the scenic beauty of the Battambang countryside.
