Itinerary

Day 1 ARRIVAL CHIANG MAI

Start your journey with a guided exploration of Chiang Mai’s historic old town and its prominent temples. After being picked up at 13:30 from the city center, you’ll first head to Wat Suan Dok, a temple known for its striking 48-meter-tall Sri Lankan-style chedi, which overlooks the Royal Cemetery. Next, visit Wat Phra Sing, a vast complex of over 60 structures located in the heart of the old town, followed by a stop at the 14th-century Wat Chedi Luang, an ancient temple that has been restored after years of deterioration. Additionally, explore Wat Chet Yot, which shows its age with visible wear, and Wat Chiang Man, famous for its numerous elephant carvings. Overnight stay in Chiang Mai.

Day 2 CHIANG MAI

Head to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, where you can take in breathtaking panoramic views of the city. You’ll reach the temple by ascending a 309-step naga staircase or opting for a cable car ride (included). While the views are spectacular, the temple itself is even more impressive, featuring several stunning structures. Next, explore the vibrant Wararot Market, a historic site famous for its diverse and high-quality goods, followed by a visit to the aromatic flower market. In the evening, savor a khantoke dinner, a traditional northern Thai meal paired with cultural performances inspired by the Lanna kingdom, which ruled northern Thailand for nearly 500 years. Overnight stay in Chiang Mai.

Day 3 CHIANG MAI – CHIANG RAI

Venture into the jungle to visit the Thai Elephant Care Centre, where you’ll meet Thailand’s national animal. This center was founded to care for elderly elephants that have retired from logging and tourist camps. You'll have the opportunity to admire these gentle creatures, learn about their personalities, habits, unique characteristics, and even their special talents. If your timing is right, you may also witness their playful bath-time. After lunch, travel by road through Doi Saket, stopping at the stunning Wat Rong Khun, also known as the ‘White Temple.’ Built in the 1990s, this temple features an intricate all-white design, adorned with mirrors that give it a dazzling, ethereal look, earning its place as one of Thailand’s most magnificent temples. Continue your journey to Chiang Rai, arriving in the afternoon for a transfer to your accommodation. Overnight stay in Chiang Rai.

Day 4 CHIANG RAI – GOLDEN TRIANGLE – DEPART CHIANG RAI

Head to Chiang Sean for a sweeping view of the Golden Triangle, where the borders of Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand converge, with the majestic Mekong River flowing through. Board a boat for a scenic 30-minute cruise around this iconic area. Afterward, savor lunch at the Imperial Golden Triangle Resort before being transferred to Chiang Rai Airport.
