Day 1Bangkok

Welcome to the vibrant city of Bangkok! Get ready for an immersive experience as we kick off with a significant welcome meeting at 6 pm. If you arrive a day or two early, take the opportunity to explore the captivating sights and sounds of this bustling Southeast Asian hub. Cruise the canals, visit the iconic Grand Palace and Temple of the Emerald Buddha, or indulge in a rejuvenating Thai massage. After the meeting, treat yourself to a flavorful green curry or tom yum goong, a spicy seafood soup, and savor the tastes of Thailand. Accommodation: Hotel

Day 2 Banteay Chhmar

Good morning, adventurers! After breakfast, we bid farewell to Thailand and venture into Cambodia. Our journey to Banteay Chhmar takes approximately 8 hours, including lunch and border-crossing formalities. Banteay Chhmar, known as the Citadel of the Cat, awaits us with its quaint village charm and scattered temples. Join a guided orientation walk to familiarize yourself with the surroundings. Tonight, we'll experience the warmth of Khmer hospitality as we stay with a local family in a traditional Khmer house on stilts. Enjoy a delectable Khmer dinner by torchlight, set amidst the temple grounds or at a local community center, depending on weather conditions. Accommodation: Homestay

Day 3 Siem Reap

After a peaceful night in Banteay Chhmar, explore the temple situated at the heart of the town. Like many Khmer temples in Cambodia, it is surrounded by water, symbolizing the vast ocean encircling the Temple Mountain—a representation of the sacred abode of Hindu gods on Mount Meru. This architectural style greatly influenced Khmer temples during the Angkor period. The water also serves to stabilize the temple's foundation, preventing drastic changes in groundwater levels. Following the visit, embark on a private vehicle journey to Siem Reap, a vibrant city (approximately 4 hours). Upon arrival, consider exploring the bustling central markets and savoring the delectable local cuisine. Why not? Accommodation: Guesthouse

Day 4 Siem Reap – Angkor Wat

Today, it's time to discover the magnificent Angkor complex with your knowledgeable guide. Prepare your camera, as every angle is picture-perfect, regardless of the time of day. Some of these structures date back over a thousand years, harking back to the era when the Khmer Empire reigned supreme in Southeast Asia. These architectural marvels symbolize the cosmic realm and exhibit impeccable balance, symmetry, and composition. Allow your mind to be captivated as you wander through the site with your guide, ensuring not to miss the sunset view of the temples. While the ruins span approximately 160 square kilometers, the main cluster is near Siem Reap, granting ample time to marvel at the awe-inspiring Angkor Wat, the majestic Bayon, and the enchanting Ta Prohm enveloped by the jungle. Tonight, indulge in a special experience as you savor a traditional meal in the welcoming home of a local family. Accommodation: Guesthouse

Day 5 Siem Reap

Start your morning with an incredible street food breakfast at Siem Reap's vibrant local market. Today is yours to explore Siem Reap at your own pace. If you're looking for something extraordinary, consider an exhilarating Angkor zip-line adventure, where you can soar like an eagle through the rainforest. Alternatively, visit the landmine museum or embark on an exciting Urban Adventure Tour. Your knowledgeable group leader can provide recommendations based on your interests. If you're eager for more Angkor exploration, multi-day passes are available, so consult your leader for the best options. Accommodation: Guesthouse

Day 6 Phnom Penh

Discover the captivating capital of Cambodia as we make our way to Phnom Penh. Enjoy a scenic journey through the Cambodian countryside on a public bus, with two stops along the way. Phnom Penh, known as the "City of Four Faces," sits at the convergence of the Mekong, Bassac, and Tonle Sap rivers. The city's main center rests on the Western bank of the Tonle Sap/Mekong rivers. In the evening, indulge in a celebration at a rooftop bar, where you can relish stunning views of the Tonle Sap and Mekong rivers merging. Accommodation: Guesthouse

Day 7 Phnom Penh

Awake in this vibrant city and join your group to delve into the country's history, visiting the somber Killing Fields of Choeung Ek and the infamous Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S21) to gain insight into the Khmer Rouge atrocities. The remainder of the day is yours to explore Phnom Penh. If shopping is on your agenda, browse the Psar Thmei (Central Market) for clothing or sarongs, housed in a charming old French colonial building. Alternatively, you can visit Wat Phnom, the National Museum, or wander through the French Quarter. Accommodation: Guesthouse

Day 8 Ho Chi Minh City

Embark on a public bus journey from Phnom Penh to Ho Chi Minh City, encompassing two border crossings and a lunch break (approximately 10 hours). Your experienced leader will guide you through the border crossing procedures. Arriving in Ho Chi Minh City, you'll be introduced to the lively atmosphere of this bustling metropolis. Formerly known as Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City showcases a vibrant blend of markets, stalls, and Vietnamese history. Embrace the city's diverse flavors, both traditional and modern, with a French baguette, a steaming bowl of pho, and a cup of Vietnamese coffee shared alongside the locals. Accommodation: Hotel

Day 9 Ho Chi Minh City

With no scheduled activities, you have the freedom to depart from your accommodation at any time. If you choose to extend your stay, consider joining one of the captivating Urban Adventures available in Ho Chi Minh City. Simply consult your leader to arrange the tour that piques your interest. Should you desire additional time in Ho Chi Minh City, we can gladly assist you in booking extra accommodation (subject to availability).
