Our guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel and we will start our journey to Cu Chi, which is about 60km away and takes around 1.5 hours. Upon arrival, we will watch a documentary about the Vietnam War before exploring the extraordinary Cu Chi Tunnels. Here, we will discover the intricate living areas with kitchens, bedrooms, storage, weapons factories, field hospitals, and command centers. You will also learn about the handmade weapons and traps used during the Vietnam War and see the huge bomb craters and the mere 10-13 feet thick layer of upper soil. At the shooting range, those interested can pay a separate fee to shoot some real guns like the Ak47, M16, M30, and M60. The highlight of the trip is the opportunity to crawl and experience the underground town of the Cu Chi Tunnels. Don't worry if you have claustrophobia, as you can still see it from above the ground. Before returning to Saigon, we will have the chance to taste tapioca, which was the guerilla's food during the war. In the afternoon, our guide will take you on a historical tour of Ho Chi Minh City. We will visit the Notre Dame Cathedral, a stunning example of French colonial architecture that was built in 1880, and the Old Post Office, which was built sometime between 1886 and 1891. Next, we will visit the War Remnants Museum, which tells the story of the Vietnam War from a different perspective. Our last stop will be at a local market where you can practice your bargaining skills while shopping for souvenirs. Here, you will have the chance to discover local life and culture, and meet some of the friendliest and liveliest people in the city.
On the third day of your tour, you will be picked up from your hotel to embark on a journey to My Tho Ben Tre City. As you travel along the freeway, take in the breathtaking views of lush green rice paddies. Upon arrival, we will take a boat ride on the Ba Lai River in Ben Tre, also known as the motherland of coconuts. Immerse yourself in the local culture and learn about the versatile uses of coconut, including coconut candy and coconut oil production. As we continue cruising, witness the lively activities of cargo boats, fishing boats, and various fish traps used by the locals.
