Itinerary

Day 1 Vientiane

Welcome to Laos! Upon arrival, you'll be transferred from the airport to your hotel for check-in. You’ll then have the afternoon and evening free to explore at your own pace.

Day 2 Vientiane city tour

After breakfast, we embark on a tour of Laos’ tranquil capital. We’ll start with a visit to Wat Si Saket, the country’s oldest Buddhist monastery, followed by a tour of the former royal temple, Haw Pha Kaeo, which now houses the national museum of religious art and was once home to the revered Emerald Buddha. Next, we will gain insight into Laos’ challenging history and ongoing struggles at the COPE Centre, dedicated to assisting victims of unexploded ordnance. We’ll then head to Pha That Luang, Laos’ most significant monument and a symbol of Buddhist faith and national pride, before viewing the striking Patuxay monument, Vientiane’s version of the Arc de Triomphe. In the afternoon, enjoy exploring Buddha Park, filled with numerous Hindu and Buddhist sculptures, and conclude the day with a sunset dinner by the Mekong River.

Day 3 Vang Vieng

We set out from the capital early in the morning, heading north through the verdant landscapes towards Vang Vieng. Our journey includes a visit to Ban Keun, renowned for its salt production and local rice wine whiskey distillation. We then make a stop at the lively and vibrant Thalat market, where hill tribes gather to trade and shop. Our next destination is the Vang Xang archaeological site, which dates back to the 11th century. Upon reaching Vang Vieng, we check into our charmingly rustic hotel, situated along the banks of the Nam Song River. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at your leisure—consider exploring nearby caves or taking a bike ride through the picturesque countryside.

Day 4 Tham Jang Caves

This morning, we visit the renowned Tham Jang Caves, which served as a refuge for locals during the Chinese invasions. We then experience the daily life of residents in Ban Huai Ngai village before continuing our journey north to the UNESCO World Heritage city of Luang Prabang.

Day 5 Luang Prabang

Consider waking up early to witness the serene sight of saffron-robed monks making their way through Luang Prabang's streets to gather alms from the local residents. After breakfast, we will embark on a vintage tuk-tuk ride to explore the historic town. Our first stop is the lively morning market, where we’ll discover various local products. Next, we visit the stunning Wat Xiengthong, known for its traditional Laotian architecture and sweeping low roof. We’ll wrap up the morning with a tour of the former Royal Palace, now a national museum showcasing its ornate rooms and impressive artifacts. In the afternoon, we head to Khouangsi Waterfall, with stops at local villages to learn about the region's ethnic diversity. At the falls, you can relax in the turquoise pools, take in the picturesque surroundings, or explore the forest trails.

Day 6 Living Land Farm Experience

This morning, we venture into the countryside to the Living Land Farm for an engaging half-day farming adventure. Here, you'll get a firsthand look at traditional rice cultivation, including planting and harvesting in the rice paddies. Experience the life of a rice farmer by plowing the fields with a water buffalo. Afterward, enjoy a delicious lunch featuring traditional Lao dishes at the farm’s Rice House, all while taking in stunning views of the surrounding rice terraces and mountains. The afternoon is yours to explore Luang Prabang at your own pace. You might choose to visit the thought-provoking UXO Centre to learn about the Second Indochina War, explore more of the city's exquisite temples, or visit the Ock Pop Tock weaving center set amidst lush tropical gardens.

Day 7 Farewell Laos

Spend the morning discovering more of this charming city before checking out of the hotel. Afterward, enjoy a convenient transfer to the airport for your departure.
