During March to July (dry season), village structures tower on 6-meter stilts, revealed as water levels recede. At this time, many villagers relocate onto the lake, constructing temporary dwellings.
From August to February (wet season), villagers return to permanent homes on the floodplain, the stilts submerged beneath water. The economy of Kampong Phluk revolves around fishing, primarily centered on shrimp harvesting.
