Upon arrival in Kampong Cham, visit the fascinating bamboo bridge that spans the mighty Mekong River, connecting the mainland to Koh Pen Island (available during dry season). Explore the ancient Wat Nokor, an 11th-century Buddhist shrine with a reclining Buddha and beautiful alcoves filled with Buddha images. Continue to Phnom Pros (Man Hill) and Phnom Srei (Woman Hill). With over 80 ruined temples in the area, Koh Ker stands out as a stunning example. After lunch, continue to Beng Mealea, approximately 60km away on a scenic road. Rediscover this forgotten jungle temple, sprawling over one square kilometer, and constructed in the style of Angkor Wat. It may have even influenced the design of Angkor Wat itself.
