Welcome to the bustling city of Hanoi, Vietnam! Upon arrival at the airport, a chauffeured car provided by Legend Travel Group will take you to your chosen accommodation. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the city, take a rest, or immerse yourself in the local culture. You will have plenty of time to form your first impressions of Vietnam and its charming capital city. Relax and get ready for an unforgettable adventure! Indulge in a delicious breakfast at your hotel before being greeted by our friendly guide who will accompany you on an exhilarating journey through Hanoi City. Your first stop will be at Tran Quoc Pagoda, which sits on Golden Fish Island in West Lake. Built in the 6th century, it is the oldest pagoda in Hanoi, showcasing remarkable architectural designs and rich history. Next, head to the Ho Chi Minh complex, where you will get the chance to view the embalmed body of Ho Chi Minh. Take a leisurely stroll around the garden to see the two houses where he lived and worked from 1954 to 1969. Followed by a visit to the One Pillar Pagoda, a unique pagoda in the world that worships the Goddess of Mercy. Please note that Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum is closed on Mondays and Fridays, and if your tour falls on either of these days, we will arrange an alternative itinerary for you. After that, proceed to the Vietnam Ethnology Museum to learn about the culture of the 54 ethnic groups residing in Vietnam. However, if your tour is scheduled for a Monday, we will visit the Women's Museum instead as the Vietnam Ethnology Museum remains closed. Satisfy your taste buds with a delectable Vietnamese lunch at one of our carefully selected restaurants. After lunch, the Temple of Literature awaits, which was Vietnam's first university established in the 11th century. This is an ideal place to discover the education system of Vietnam in ancient times. To conclude the city tour, you will visit the Hoa Lo Prison, originally used by the French colonists in Indochina for political prisoners, and later by North Vietnam for U.S. prisoners of war during the Vietnam War. During this later period, it was known to American POWs as the "Hanoi Hilton." After an exciting day exploring Hanoi City, our car driver will transfer you back to the hotel for check-in. After indulging in a scrumptious breakfast at your hotel, our private mini-van/bus will collect you between 8:30 am to 9:00 am to commence your journey to Halong City. Along the 3.5-hour drive, witness the picturesque countryside and rice paddy life. Once at the port, you will embark on a traditional Chinese Junk, your private boat for a remarkable cruise through the mesmerizing Halong Bay, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Savour a delectable seafood lunch served onboard. During the cruise, we will visit "the Amazing cave" and have a refreshing dip in the tranquil emerald waters of Halong Bay. Further, we will cruise to a peaceful area, where we will anchor and spend the night. While the sun sets over the bay, you will relish in a delightful dinner and unwind. Afterward, dive into the phosphorescent water, or retreat to your cabin or even sleep under the stars on the top deck, enveloped by the enchanting ambience of Halong Bay. Rise and shine early to catch the stunning sunrise over Halong Bay and inhale the salty ocean breeze. Savor your breakfast on board as we slowly cruise through the vast expanse of breathtaking limestone islands. This presents an unparalleled opportunity to snap some remarkable photos of the stunning landscape. We will also make a stop at a floating fishing village where you can listen to the fascinating tales of the fishermen's daily life. Enjoy a delicious lunch on board as we make our way back to the Halong City pier. From there, we will drive back to Hanoi. Your scheduled arrival time in Hanoi is between 3:30 pm and 4:00 pm. Upon arrival at Hoi An, our staff will greet you and escort you to your hotel for check-in. Embark on a full-day excursion to Hoi An, a captivating trading center with a rich and vibrant history. Known as "Faifo" to the first Western traders, Hoi An was a thriving port for Dutch, Portuguese, Italian, Chinese, and Japanese vessels during the Far East's golden age. The tour begins with a visit to a temple situated in the heart of Hoi An. This temple features partially gilded statues and showcases the fusion of Chinese and Japanese architectural styles. Afterwards, you will explore a pagoda dedicated to sailors and fishermen, and a chapel that dates back to the 1700s. You will then proceed to the Sa Huynh Museum, situated near the iconic Japanese Covered Bridge. With the rest of the day free, you can immerse yourself in the bustling city of Ho Chi Minh at your own pace. Perhaps visit some of the city's cultural attractions such as the War Remnants Museum or Independence Palace, or take a leisurely stroll around some of the local markets to soak up the vibrant atmosphere. Alternatively, you may prefer to unwind and relax in your luxurious hotel room after a long day of travel. Your first stop is the Notre Dame Cathedral, a magnificent example of neo-Romanesque architecture constructed by the French in the 19th century. Then, visit the historic Central Post Office, designed by Gustave Eiffel and featuring a stunning interior adorned with intricate maps, intricate designs, and arched windows. Next, explore the Reunification Palace, the former presidential palace of South Vietnam, and a poignant reminder of the country's turbulent past. After breaking for lunch at a local restaurant, the afternoon takes you to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, a must-visit destination for Vietnamese and foreign tourists alike. These tunnels, spanning over 200km, played a crucial role during the Vietnam War as underground cities that included trap doors, living quarters, storage facilities, weapon factories, field hospitals, command centers, and kitchens. You'll gain insights into the tunnels' construction and spend the next few hours exploring the tunnels and war remnants, learning about the harsh conditions and ingenious methods used to sustain life underground. You'll even get a chance to sample some of the simple cuisine that local fighters survived on and venture into the tunnels to experience them firsthand. After the tour, return to your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City for a comfortable overnight stay. The distance between Saigon and the Cu Chi Tunnels is approximately 75 km, and the drive takes about 1.5 hours.
