Embark on an enchanting 6-day journey through Laos, starting in Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its well-preserved temples and serene ambiance. Explore the captivating Plain of Jars in Phonsavan, an ancient and mysterious archaeological site. Cruise along the Mekong River to the Pak Ou Caves, adorned with thousands of Buddha statues. Conclude your adventure in Vientiane, the charming capital of Laos, where you’ll discover its blend of cultural influences and historical landmarks. This tour offers a rich tapestry of Laos’ natural beauty, historical significance, and cultural heritage.
Upon your arrival at the airport, you'll be greeted and taken to your hotel. Luang Prabang is renowned for being one of Southeast Asia's most impeccably preserved traditional cities. After a brief rest, we will explore the stunning Wat Visoun stupa along with the sacred sites of Wat Aham and Wat Mai. Next, we’ll ascend Mount Phousi to view its revered gilded stupa and enjoy panoramic vistas of the city, including a sunset reflecting over the Mekong River. The evening continues with a visit to the Night Market, where you can shop for exquisite handmade textiles crafted by local and hill tribe artisans.

For those who choose an early start, you’ll have the rare opportunity to witness the traditional morning ritual where saffron-robed monks collect alms, typically sticky rice, from devoted locals. This unique practice is a cherished aspect of Laotian culture, as Laos is the only Buddhist country that continues this ancient tradition. Additionally, you can explore the morning Phosi Market, which offers a variety of items, including dried buffalo skin, local teas, saltpeter, and an assortment of fresh produce and hill-tribe crafts.
AM: Following breakfast, we embark on a brief guided tour of Luang Prabang’s historic temples, including the ancient Wat Sene and the stunning Wat Xiengthong, renowned for its low-sweeping roofs and classic Laotian architecture. We then set off on a Mekong River cruise, which provides a scenic view of the peaceful countryside and a visit to the intriguing Pak Ou Caves. These caves, adorned with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various sizes, have been a site of pilgrimage for centuries. Our journey includes a stop at Ban Xanghai, a village famous for its local rice wine, before returning to Luang Prabang with a detour to Ban Phanom, known for its traditional hand weaving.
PM: After lunch, we head to the stunning Kuangsi Waterfall, making stops along the way to explore local villages such as Ban Ouay, Ban Ou, Laoloum, and Ban Thapene. At Kuangsi Waterfall, you can relax in the refreshing pools or take a scenic walk through the surrounding forest. In the late afternoon, we visit Ban Xangkhong, a village renowned for its silk weaving and traditional Saa Paper-making. We conclude the day by returning to the city to watch the sunset at Wat Siphouthabath.

Following breakfast, you'll be collected from your hotel for a scenic drive through stunning mountain landscapes toward Xiengkhouang, renowned for its intriguing 'Plain of Jars'. Along the journey, there will be ample chances to explore various villages. Once we reach Xiengkhouang and check into our hotel, the rest of the evening is yours to relax and enjoy as you wish.

We will set out to explore the Plain of Jars, a remarkable archaeological site featuring hundreds of large stone jars scattered across the plateau. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the historic Muang Khoun Province and nearby villages inhabited by the Hmong and Tai Dam ethnic groups, known for their rich cultural heritage and colorful traditions. Afterward, we’ll catch a brief flight to Vientiane. Upon arrival, we’ll check into our hotel and, after a short rest, head to the Morning Market and the weaving village of Ban Nong Bouathong.

Today, we’ll explore the highlights of the capital city. Our first stops include the historic Wat Sisaket, renowned for its thousands of miniature Buddha statues, and the former royal temple, Wat Prakeo, which once housed the celebrated Emerald Buddha. As we make our way to That Luang Stupa, a revered national symbol of Laos, we’ll pause to photograph the striking Patuxay Monument, often referred to as Vientiane’s Arc de Triomphe.
In the afternoon, we’ll head to Buddha Park, a captivating collection of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures set in a meadow along the Mekong River, near the Friendship Bridge. This park features around 200 religious statues, some over 500 years old, created by a enigmatic monk who aimed to convey his philosophical and cosmic views. We’ll conclude the day by taking in the stunning sunset views over the Mekong River.
