Explore the historic capital of Vietnam and its renowned ancient temples of Le and Dinh Dynasties. Afterward, proceed to Tam Coc for lunch around 12:30 PM. PM: Following lunch, embark on a boat trip to witness the stunning karst formations and caves carved through limestone as you glide along the Ngo Dong River. Then, enjoy a picturesque one-hour cycling adventure through villages, rice fields, rivers, and rocky outcrops in Tam Coc - Bich Dong (approximately 5 km). Return to Hanoi and be dropped off at your hotel around 6:30 PM. In the evening, you will have time to rest at the hotel lobby before we transfer you to the train station for an overnight train experience to Sapa. This unique experience will give you a taste of Vietnam's authentic transportation.
Arrive at Lao Cai train station around 06:30 AM, where our tour guide and driver will warmly welcome you. You'll then be transferred to the picturesque Sapa village in a shared tourist bus. The scenic uphill journey takes about an hour, revealing breathtaking vistas and impressive rice terraces. Upon reaching the hotel in Sapa, an early check-in awaits if rooms are available. If not, a basic room will be provided for your refreshment until breakfast. After a delightful morning meal, embark on your tour. At 09:30 AM, commence your adventure with a 6km walk to Y Linh Ho village, home to the Black H'mong people, situated along the scenic Muong Hoa valley. Continue your trek for 3km to Lao Chai village, where a simple lunch awaits before exploring the village. Afterward, venture through terraced rice fields to reach Ta Van village, inhabited by the Dzay minority. This trek is relatively easy, but good footwear is advised as the trail may get slippery when it rains. • Trekking level: 6/10 • Trekking distance: 10km trekking and 8km driving from Ta Van village back to Sapa. • Accommodation: Homestay in Ta Van
Around 09:30 AM, following a restful night and a delicious breakfast, set out on an 8km walk to visit two villages of the Red Dzao and H'mong people, Giang Ta Chai, and Su Pan. Giang Ta Chai, located on the edge of Muong Hoa Valley, enchants visitors with its picturesque landscapes and vibrant traditional customs and costumes. Su Pan, a less-visited village with a small population, offers a more secluded and intimate experience. Explore the breathtaking mountainous area, including a stunning waterfall, rattan bridges, and beautiful ferns and orchids draping from lush vegetation. After visiting Giang Ta Chai and Su Pan, return to Sapa town by bus, where you'll have more time to explore and share stories and photos of your memorable journey. After a delicious breakfast around 9:00 AM, we embark on a captivating journey to the southwest of Sapa (approximately 4 km) to visit Cat Cat village, inhabited by the Black H'mong people. The trek offers breathtaking views of a cascading waterfall and the remnants of a hydro-electric power station dating back to the early 20th century. As we pass through the village, you'll witness the locals tending to their paddy rice fields, children playing joyfully, and charming animals like water buffaloes, pot-bellied pigs, and chickens. At the picturesque waterfall, we take a moment to rest and capture unforgettable photographs before enjoying a delightful lunch amidst the mountainous landscape. Continuing the adventure, we hike to Sin Chai village (3 km) nestled at the foot of Fansipan Mountain, often referred to as the "roof of Vietnam and Indochina." There, you'll be captivated by the breathtaking and serene surroundings before returning to Sapa town. • Trekking level: 4/10 • Trekking distance: 7 km trekking, 3 km driving from Cat Cat back to Sapa. • Overnight bus back to your hotel in Hanoi.
