This afternoon, your adventure kicks off with a tour of the city's highlights. Begin at the National Museum, where you'll explore priceless ancient artifacts, artwork, and historical memorabilia that provide a deeper understanding of Myanmar’s past. Noteworthy are the three halls on the ground floor, featuring exhibits on the development of the Myanmar alphabet, the Lion Throne Room, and artifacts from the Yatanabon Period.

Next, head to Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda, home to a remarkable 70-meter reclining Buddha. Later, visit the revered Shwedagon Pagoda, Myanmar's most sacred Buddhist temple. The central stupa, standing 90 meters tall and adorned with gold leaf, offers stunning views as the sun sets, illuminating both the pagoda and the city skyline before returning to your hotel.

You will spend the night in Yangon.

Day 2 YANGON – FLIGHT TO BAGAN IN NYAUNG U – BAGAN SIGHTSEEING TOURS AT SACRED TEMPLES AND STUPAS

You will be transferred to Mingaladon Airport in Yangon for your flight to Bagan (Nyaung Oo). From the 11th to the 13th centuries, during its time as the capital of Myanmar, Bagan's rulers erected thousands of grand stupas and temples, many of which still stand proudly along the banks of the Irrawaddy River today.

Upon arrival, your adventure kicks off with a visit to Tayokye Pyay, an elevated temple offering breathtaking panoramic views of the stunning Bagan plains. Next, head to the vibrant Nyaung Oo Market, where locals gather daily to buy and sell fresh produce and various goods. Following this, you’ll visit the golden Shwezigon Pagoda for an insightful introduction to Bagan’s rich history.

Your exploration continues at the nearby Wetkyi-In Gubyaukgyi, a cave temple adorned with exquisite jataka mural paintings, and the graceful Htilominlo Temple, renowned for its intricate plaster carvings and glazed sandstone embellishments.

In the afternoon, visit a traditional lacquer ware workshop to witness the crafting of one of Myanmar’s most famous handicrafts. Then, make your way to Ananda Temple, a stunning architectural gem regarded as one of Bagan’s finest. Built in the early Mon style, Ananda houses two unique Buddha images whose expressions seem to shift based on your viewing distance.

From there, take a horse cart tour past Thatbyinnyu, the tallest temple in Bagan, the impressive Dhammayangyi Temple known for its remarkable brickwork, and the Sulamani Temple. Conclude your day with an unforgettable sunset over the plains from the upper terrace of one of the temples.

You will spend the night in Bagan.
