This morning, we embark on a bike ride through the picturesque rural areas of northern Thailand. Following the Ping River south, we'll explore Buddhist temples, ancient city ruins, and lush rice paddies. The ride covers approximately 20 kilometers on quality mountain bikes, with helmets provided for safety. In the afternoon, we visit Doi Suthep Temple, perched in the mountains above Chiang Mai. Celebrated as one of Thailand’s most revered temples, it also boasts stunning views of the city below. As the day winds down, enjoy a delightful cyclo tour to discover more of Chiang Mai’s beautiful temples.
After breakfast, we depart Chiang Mai in a 'songtheaw' vehicle. Our journey takes us first to the Pha Mieng district, where we embark on a scenic walk to stunning waterfalls for a refreshing swim and a picnic lunch. In the afternoon, we venture through lush forests to a Red Lahu village, and then to Kup Kap Lahu village, where we’ll spend the night in a local setting. Take this opportunity to connect with the villagers and learn more about their intriguing minority culture.
This morning, wake up early and enjoy breakfast before we embark on a trek downhill to the Huay Sadan waterfalls. From there, we head to a nearby elephant camp where you can take part in an exciting elephant ride and savor a picnic lunch. Afterward, experience white water rafting on some gentle rapids. Later, we'll meet our transport to a village inhabited by the Akha tribespeople, known for their small stature and vibrant traditional costumes. In the late afternoon, we’ll arrive at the award-winning Lisu Lodge, where you can unwind in a tranquil setting and enjoy an evening of entertainment from our welcoming hosts.
This morning, explore the surroundings of your village with a visit to the local shaman and a Lisu herb garden. Afterwards, enjoy a delightful bullock cart ride through the scenic countryside before returning to the Lisu Lodge for a tasty Thai lunch. Bid farewell to your Lisu hosts as we depart by vehicle for Khum Lanna Lodge, a project aimed at fostering appreciation for traditional Thai culture. On our way to the lodge, we will make a stop at the Chiang Dao Caves, which stretch for 14 kilometers and are believed to have been inhabited by a hermit for a millennium.
Enjoy your morning at Khum Lanna Lodge, where you can either explore the nearby rice fields on a bicycle or unwind at the lodge. Later, join an engaging Thai cooking class using fresh ingredients harvested from the garden. In the afternoon, bid farewell to Khum Lanna as we travel north to the Mae Kok River. There, take a cruise on a long-tail boat, visit a Karen village, and arrive in Chiang Rai by late afternoon.
This morning, we journey to Mae Sai, the northernmost town in Thailand. After reaching the border with Myanmar, we head to Sop Ruak, the heart of the Golden Triangle where Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar converge. We'll explore the intriguing Hall of Opium before making our way back to Chiang Mai in the evening, where you can enjoy a stroll through the vibrant night bazaar.
Today, you'll be taken to the airport to continue your travels.
