Upon arrival in Phnom Penh, you will be greeted by your guide and driver who will transfer you to your hotel for check-in. Take some time to relax and settle in. Phnom Penh, often referred to as the "Pearl of Asia," showcases a blend of old-world charm and modernity. The city is adorned with remnants of its French colonial past, with beautiful colonial buildings scattered throughout its grand boulevards. After a delicious breakfast, we embark on a captivating tour of Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. Our first stops include the magnificent Wat Phnom, the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda, and the National Museum, where a remarkable collection of pre and post-Angkor artifacts await. For lunch, we dine at Friends the Restaurant, a unique establishment that supports former street children by providing them with hospitality and restaurant training, helping them transform their lives. In the afternoon, we delve into the dark period of Khmer history as we visit the Tuol Sleng Museum, a former prison used by the Khmer Rouge for detention and torture. We also pay our respects at the Choeung Ek Killing Field, a solemn memorial to the victims. Before the day ends, we explore the vibrant Russian Market, known for its diverse range of goods. Enjoy a delightful breakfast at the hotel before we transfer to the Giant Bus for our journey to Siem Reap (without guide). The scenic bus ride takes approximately 5 hours and offers picturesque views along the way. Upon arrival, we pick you up from the bus station and transfer you to your hotel for check-in. En route, we make a stop at the King's Residence to observe the Main Shrine, where locals worship and offer jasmine and lotus flowers. Our next visit is to "Chantiers Ecoles - Les Artisans d'Angkor," where young Cambodians are trained in traditional stone carving and wood sculpting. We then proceed to the lively Psar Chars, also known as the "Old Market," a bustling marketplace where you can find a wide variety of items. Continuing our journey, we will drive to the Pouk district, located approximately 15 km west of Siem Reap. En route back, we will make a stop at the Western Baray (Baray Occidental), an impressive reservoir measuring 8 km by 2.3 km.
