Delight in a morning meal at the Blue Dragon Children's Foundation, a community initiative committed to supporting disadvantaged children and those affected by trafficking. Subsequently, embark on a city exploration, witnessing the diverse history of the city mirrored in a blend of Southeast Asian, Chinese, and French-influenced architectural styles. Visit notable landmarks, including the appropriately named One Pillar Pagoda, the renowned stilt house (once the abode of Ho Chi Minh), the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, and the Temple of Literature.

Embarking on a journey to Sung Village that takes about 4 hours. Sung Village is home to around 70 families, primarily belonging to the Dzao 'Tien' ethnic group. The community relies on farming and forest plantation as their primary sources of income. Enjoy a homestay lunch upon arrival, followed by an introductory stroll around the village. Once familiarized with the surroundings, embark on a short trek (2 kilometers) to the captivating Sung Cave and visit a tea plantation that boasts a history of a century. Be mindful that the trek includes some steep and slippery sections, so please ensure you have appropriate footwear for this activity. Following a handicraft workshop, return to your homestay for a rejuvenating hot shower and a delectable dinner.

In the morning, seize the opportunity to immerse yourself further in the Vietnamese highlands with a 10-kilometer trek from Sung Village to Da Bia. The initial 8 kilometers of the trek follow mostly flat terrain along well-trodden buffalo tracks. The last 2 kilometers feature a gradual incline, and for approximately 300 meters, there are some steps to climb. However, the walk maintains a steady and relaxed pace. Keep an eye out for the monumental stone at the peak of Da Bia Mountain during the hike, which traverses local villages, allowing encounters with people from the Muong ethnic tribe. Pause for lunch at Da Bia before indulging in a picturesque 1.5-hour boat cruise on the Hoa Binh hydropower reservoir. Shared hotel rooms are at your disposal if you wish to freshen up or organize your belongings. Alternatively, use this time to indulge in some shopping on Hang Gai Street or savor delectable Hanoi street food. Gather back at the hotel lobby at 9 pm, where you'll transfer with the group to the train station. Despite the basic conditions, overnight trains offer a rewarding experience in Vietnam. They prove to be an efficient means of covering long distances and provide a unique opportunity to grasp the essence of the country.
