Yangon, formerly known as Rangoon, is a serene and charming city, celebrated for its remarkable colonial and spiritual heritage, making it one of the most captivating destinations in Southeast Asia.
En route, we will stop at Kaba Aye Pagoda (World Peace Pagoda), built to commemorate the Sixth Buddhist Synod held from 1954 to 1956. This pagoda is situated on Kaba Aye Pagoda Road in Mayangon Township. Next, we’ll visit the Mahapasana Guha, or "Great Cave," located nearby.
To conclude your day, we’ll visit the Shwedagon Pagoda, a true wonder of the world. Constructed over 2,500 years ago, it houses hair relics of the Buddha and serves as a gathering place for devoted Buddhists who come to meditate and pray. Enjoy stunning views of the golden stupa from this viewpoint.
You’ll spend the night in Yangon.
After breakfast, we'll embark on a tour of the city center, showcasing various historical and colonial buildings, traveling partly by car and partly on foot. We’ll then head to Chaukhtatgyi Pagoda, known for its stunning reclining Buddha, adorned with a crown of diamonds and precious stones. The statue's feet are intricately carved with traditional symbols, attracting many locals who come to pay their respects and pray.
Around 5:00 PM, you'll be transferred to Aung Mingalar Highway bus station to board the overnight VIP bus to Bagan. The bus will depart Yangon at 8:00 PM and arrive in Bagan at 5:30 AM.
