(Start at 8:00 AM - Return at 19:30 PM) In the morning, we begin our tour by visiting some iconic landmarks of Ho Chi Minh City. We marvel at the magnificent Notre Dame Cathedral and the historic Central Post Office. Our exploration continues to the Reunification Palace, a symbol of historical significance. Then, we visit the thought-provoking War Remnants Museum, a poignant reminder of the war's impact (optional visit to Ben Thanh Market - drop off only). In the afternoon, we head to the renowned Cu Chi Tunnels, located 60km from Saigon. These intricate tunnels once played a crucial role in the war, serving as underground cities with trap doors, living quarters, storage facilities, weapons factories, hospitals, and command centers. Today, the area is a peaceful countryside with ducks and water buffalos grazing along the riverbanks. However, the tranquil rice paddy scenery masks the violent history of the region, which suffered extensive damage and defoliation from bombing and mines during the war. It is a testament to the fierce battles fought here in the 1960s when Cu Chi was a "Free Target Zone." Before entering the tunnels, visitors can watch a short video explaining their construction. Spending the next hour exploring the tunnels, you will gain insight into the challenging conditions faced by the soldiers. Afterward, enjoy tea and cassava, the guerrilla's staple food during the war, before returning to Saigon. Overnight at the hotel in Saigon.
After breakfast at the hotel, you have some free time for shopping until the driver transfers you to the airport for your return flight home.
