The residents of Cu Chi ingeniously took the war underground, creating an intricate network of tunnels that extended as far as Cambodia. These tunnels included meeting rooms, kitchens, and triage areas. Concealed from the ground, the tunnels were resilient against tanks rolling overhead, making them imperceptible. Living conditions were harsh, with residents facing not only the challenges of war but also scarcity of food and oxygen, venomous insects, and cramped living quarters.
