Embarking on our motorbike expedition, we depart from Hanoi around 9 a.m., steering clear of bustling traffic by navigating the serene dyke roads. Our journey unfolds to the west, leading us to Mai Chau—an enchanting region adorned with stunning landscapes and the cultural richness of the Thai ethnic minority.
Cruising on Highway 6, we traverse vast expanses of farmland, where picturesque paddy fields stretch as far as the eye can see. The journey is graced by tree-lined roads, weaving through the captivating limestone karst formations. A delightful lunch awaits us in Hoa Binh Province, followed by a traverse of Thung Khe—a breathtaking mountain pass offering panoramic views. Descending into the mountainous valley of Mai Chau, our day concludes with a delectable dinner and a captivating cultural performance. As the night unfolds, we partake in local festivities, engaging in dance and savoring special libations like rice wine. Rest for the night is nestled in a traditional stilt house within the welcoming Thai village.

Continue our exhilarating ride along the Ho Chi Minh Highway until we reach Pho Chau, where a stop is scheduled to explore the HCM Trail victory monument—an essential landmark marking the actual commencement of our HCM Trail journey. We then continue our motorbike adventure to Phong Nha – Ke Bang, home to the largest and most captivating cave in Vietnam and the entire Indochina region, now proudly recognized as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site.
The karst formations within Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park have been evolving since the Paleozoic era, dating back some 400 million years, making it the oldest significant karst area in Asia. Shaped by extensive tectonic changes, the park's karst landscape boasts remarkable complexity and numerous geographically significant features. Encompassing a vast area that extends to the border of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, the park showcases stunning formations, including an intricate network of 65 kilometers of caves and underground rivers.

Embark on a boat excursion to explore the Phong Nha World Heritage site, where local civilians and military sought refuge from relentless bombings during wartime. Following a satisfying lunch, our journey continues along the Ho Chi Minh Trail, with a brief pause at Truong Son Cemetery to pay homage to the brave soldiers who valiantly fought and sacrificed their lives on the trail during the American War.
Advancing further west on Highway 9, we ascend into the Truong Son foothills, passing notable landmarks such as the Rock Pile. Along the way, we make stops at charming villages, as well as serene natural springs and waterfalls nestled near the highway.

This morning, our journey unfolds along Highway 1 towards Quang Tri town. Here, we delve into history, visiting Long Hung Church and the Quang Tri Old Citadel—an 81-day battlefield during the intense conflict between North and South Vietnam in 1972. Following the coast from Cua Viet Beach to Cua Tung Beach, revel in the scenic beauty of this tranquil coastline.
Our exploration continues with a visit to the Vinh Moc tunnels and an exploration of the Demilitarized Zone. A lunch break awaits at the Doc Mieu Firebase. Riding onward along the Ho Chi Minh Trail, we pass through Dong Ha town, where a stop at the vibrant Dong Ha market provides insight into local life. Continuing our journey, we head directly to Hue, with our guide showcasing additional war relics along the way.
Upon arrival in Hue, time permitting, we embark on a ride to visit the Imperial Citadel and one of the Royal Tombs. As the day concludes, savor the sunset on the banks of the Perfume River.

Upon reaching Da Nang, securely park your bikes near the Railway Station. Our guide will then arrange a taxi to transfer you to your Hoi An hotel for check-in. Enjoy some leisure time at your own pace.
