Day 3 HA GIANG MOTORCYCLE TOURS TO DONG VAN (HA GIANG) – OFFROAD MOTORBIKE TOURS TO TRIBAL VILLAGES

After obtaining the necessary permit to traverse border areas from Ha Giang's Immigration Police, our motorbike adventure unfolds on challenging yet remarkably scenic mountain roads, meandering through the vibrant land of diverse mountain hill-tribes. Ascending the Ma Pi Leng Pass, we encounter yet another awe-inspiring location, featuring cloud-kissed mountain ranges and the poetic Nho Que River gracefully winding in the distance.

Describing the Ma Pi Leng Pass, nestled between Dong Van and Meo Vac near the northernmost tip of Vietnam, is a daunting task. It stands as a painting of extraordinary beauty and magnificence, captivating the gaze of all spectators and nature enthusiasts.

Navigate through a zigzagging track until reaching the Vuong Family’s Residence, located 14 kilometers before Dong Van. Renowned as the rulers of the Hmong People in Dong Van, Ha Giang, the Vuong Family's residence sits in the scenic Sa Phin Valley, featuring distinctive Chinese architecture. Crafted entirely from wood and rock, with the rocks imported from China, the residence is a testament to human craftsmanship in the heavenly beauty of Sa Phin.

Venturing into this remote area, we encounter the hard-working local inhabitants, witnessing their inspiring ability to thrive amid the rocky terrain. Upon reaching Dong Van Town, take some extra time to explore the ancient streets adorned with H'mong homes constructed from clay bricks and tile roofs centuries ago.

Day 4 DONG VAN MOTORCYCLE TOURS TO BA BE NATIONAL PARK (BAC KAN) VIA MEO VAC

The road is currently undergoing construction, with rough tracks contributing to a relatively lengthy journey despite covering only a few kilometers. Nonetheless, the landscape along the route stands among the most captivating in Vietnam, and the unhurried pace only enhances the overall experience.

Traversing the untamed regions of the legendary Ha Giang province, including the town of Meo Vac, adds an adventurous touch to the expedition. Meo Vac shares its border with Dong Van District in Ha Giang Province and Bao Lam District in Cao Bang Province. Predominantly situated in the Rock Plateau of Dong Van, the region elevates above 1000 meters sea level.

Meo Vac endures a rigorous winter climate from November to April, characterized by dry and freezing cold conditions. Inhabited by diverse ethnic minorities such as the H'mong, the King, Tay, and Dzao, these communities have diligently preserved their cultures, untouched by external influences.

The afternoon unfolds with a scenic motorbike descent into Bac Kan Province. Later, embark on a local boat ride on the Na Hang Hydro Power Factory reservoir, heading towards a village near the Dau Dang waterfall in Ba Be National Park for an authentic home-stay experience.

Day 5 BA BE MOTORCYCLE TOURS TO HANOI

Important Note: Today is a significant and demanding day, requiring an early start and cautious riding on Road 3. After a hearty breakfast, embark on another boat ride across Ba Be Lake to the opposite side before mounting our motorcycles to head towards Cho Ra, eventually reaching the main Road 3.

Ba Be National Park stands as a rich bioreserve area, featuring the world's sole freshwater karst lake and hosting various rare species of fauna and flora. Established in 1992 by the Vietnamese Government, this biodiverse park spans 10,048 hectares and is home to 1,268 species of flora and fauna, along with caves and a vast freshwater lake, all aimed at preserving forest ecosystems in the northeast.

Within Ba Be National Park reside over 3,000 people from ethnic minorities such as Tay, Nung, Dao, and Mong, dwelling in 13 villages within the park. The Tay people, comprising 58 percent of the park's population, have called the Ba Be area home for centuries.

As we journey back to Hanoi on Road 3, be mindful that the traffic tends to intensify. Therefore, it's essential to return before the rush hour ensues.
