Arrive at Yangon International Airport, where a representative will be ready to welcome you and assist with your private transfer to your hotel. It’s ideal to arrive before 9:00 AM, so please plan your travel arrangements accordingly or consider our optional pre-night stay in Yangon. After checking in, venture out to explore the lively streets of Yangon with your guide. Your city tour will highlight various colonial-era buildings, including City Hall and the Independence Monument. After enjoying lunch at a local restaurant (at your own expense), continue to Kandawgyi Nature Park, which offers beautiful views of Kandawgyi Lake and the Karaweik Royal Barge. As the day winds down, visit the iconic Shwedagon Pagoda, Myanmar’s most revered Buddhist shrine and one of the world’s most recognized pagodas. This impressive 99-meter tall structure is adorned with gold leaf and surrounded by 64 smaller stupas. Stroll around the complex with your guide and learn about the deep significance of this beloved sanctuary. You’ll return to your hotel in the evening. Overnight in Yangon.
Get ready for your transfer from the reception to the airport for a domestic flight to Bagan. This ancient city, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is situated in Myanmar's Mandalay Region along the banks of the Ayeyarwady River. Bagan is renowned for its archaeological area, which features more than 2,000 Buddhist monuments rising above the verdant plains. Upon your arrival in Bagan, you will be greeted by our guide, who will lead you on a full day of exploration. Your itinerary includes a visit to Nyaung Oo Market, Wetkyi-In-Gubyaukgyi Temple, known for its stunning frescoes depicting Jataka tales, the City Gate, and the Ananda Temple, regarded as the most beautiful temple in Bagan, showcasing four impressive standing Buddha statues and numerous seated figures adorning its interior. You'll also visit Thatbyinnyu Temple, the tallest temple in Bagan, constructed by King Alaung Sithu in the early 11th century. After lunch (at your own expense), we will head to the rural villages of Minanthu and Phwasaw to observe traditional handicrafts at a lacquerware workshop. Conclude your day by watching the sunset over the Ayeyarwady River from Bupaya. Overnight in Bagan.
Prepare for your transfer to the airport for a domestic flight to Mandalay. This city, once the royal capital of northern Myanmar, is situated along the Ayeyarwady River. At its heart lies the Mandalay Palace, the former residence of the last Burmese monarchy, surrounded by a network of waterways. Mandalay boasts a rich array of religious and architectural sites, including Mahagandaryone and Atumashi Monastery. Upon your arrival, our guide will be waiting for you in the arrivals hall to assist with your transfer to the city. On the way, we will stop to explore Amarapura, an ancient capital established on the advice of astrologers, and then visit the U Bein Bridge, the oldest and longest teak bridge in the world, which spans Taungthaman Lake near Amarapura. During our sightseeing in Mandalay, we will visit the Mahamuni Image, a bronze Buddha statue cast during the lifetime of the Buddha, and learn about traditional crafts such as tapestry work, woodcarving, and bronze casting at local workshops. To conclude our day, we will admire the intricate wood carvings of Shwenandaw Monastery, view the world’s largest book housed within the walls of Kuthodaw Pagoda, and enjoy a sunset with breathtaking panoramic views from the summit of Mandalay Hill. Prepare for your transfer to the airport for your flight back to Yangon. Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by our guide in the arrivals hall, and together you will embark on another sightseeing tour of Yangon before checking in to your hotel. First, we will visit the Loka Chantha Abhayalabhamuni Buddha Image, a stunning sculpture made from over 600 tons of white marble and measuring 37 feet in length. After lunch (at your own expense), we will continue to Bogyoke Aung San Market, the largest market in Yangon, where you'll have ample time to explore the hundreds of stalls filled with souvenirs and great deals. Later in the evening, you are free to enjoy some leisure time in the city. You might consider taking a stroll to Chinatown, where you can find numerous street vendors and sample a variety of local delicacies and tropical fruits. Overnight in Yangon.
