From there, you'll travel by local open-air truck along a scenic, winding road. Enjoy a cable car ride from the mid-mountain area to the summit and back. At the top, you'll encounter a massive boulder adorned with gold leaf, precariously balanced on the edge of a cliff. Golden Rock is one of Myanmar’s most significant pilgrimage sites, where you can participate in the local tradition of offering gold leaf at the shrine. In the afternoon, you'll make your way back to Yangon, arriving at your hotel in the evening. Overnight in Yangon.

Day 2 YANGON – GOLDEN ROCK – YANGON

Upon your arrival at Yangon International Airport, make your way to the arrivals hall, where our English-speaking guide will be ready to welcome you and kick off your introductory tour of Yangon City. It is advisable to arrive before 9:00 AM, so please plan your travel arrangements accordingly or consider our optional pre-night stay in Yangon. As the largest city in Myanmar, Yangon serves as a lively hub and a historical political center, drawing in financial professionals and travelers from around the world. The city has undergone significant transformation since reopening its borders, showcasing a variety of new restaurants, bars, and shops. After enjoying lunch at a local eatery (at your own expense), we will visit Kandawgyi Nature Park, which provides beautiful views of the renowned Kandawgyi Lake and the Karaweik Royal Barge. Following this, we will head to the Shwedagon Pagoda, the most esteemed Buddhist site in Myanmar. Your guide will navigate you through this vast complex, detailing the temple's importance. In the late afternoon, you will be escorted to your hotel for check-in. Overnight in Yangon.

Day 3 YANGON – BAGO – YANGON

Prepare for your journey to Bago, the historic capital of the Mon Kingdom, located 80 km northeast of Yangon. We’ll take a leisurely walk through the streets of Bago, discovering its religious sites and the remnants of the ancient palace, allowing us to delve into the rich history of this spiritual city. A highlight of the trip will be visiting the impressive 55-meter-long Shwethalyaung Buddha (‘Reclining Buddha’), which dates back to 994 AD, along with the four seated Buddhas at Kyaikpun and the notable Mon-style Shwemawdaw Pagoda, which are among Bago’s most significant religious landmarks. After enjoying lunch at a local restaurant (at your own expense), we’ll make our way back to Yangon, passing through quaint villages and lush paddy fields, capturing the essence of traditional rural life. Upon returning to Yangon, you will have the rest of the day free to relax at your leisure. Overnight in Yangon.

Day 4 YANGON

Embark on a journey downtown with your guide to discover the vibrant city center, characterized by its stunning blend of architectural styles and landmarks. We’ll begin at the Nan Thida (The Strand) jetty, where you can observe the lively atmosphere along the Yangon River, filled with picturesque scenes. Next, we’ll visit the Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda to see the impressive 66-meter-long reclining Buddha, one of the largest in Myanmar. Afterward, we’ll explore Mahapasana Cave, a revered site of the sixth Buddhist synod, and learn about traditional jewelry patterns at a renowned Gems and Jade Workshop. Following lunch at a local restaurant (at your own expense), we’ll make our way to Bogyoke Market, previously known as Scott’s Market, where you can take your time browsing through a myriad of stalls and shops. This market is the ideal spot in Yangon for handicrafts and various goods, so don’t miss the chance to pick up a souvenir or two!
