Cu Chi, located 60km from HCMC, is a popular destination for both Vietnamese and foreign tourists. The vast network of over 200km of tunnels played a crucial role in the War. Functioning as underground cities, they had trap doors, living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers, and kitchens. Today, the peaceful rural rice paddy scenery hides its violent history. It's difficult to imagine the destruction caused by bombing and mines. The area witnessed intense battles during the 1960s when Cu Chi was a "Free Target Zone." Start the tour in the morning, watching a short video on how the tunnels were constructed before exploring them for about an hour. Enjoy tea and cassava, the guerrilla's food during the war. Return to Ho Chi Minh City. Visit Notre-Dame Cathedral, Independence Palace, Saigon Central Post Office, and Ben Thanh Market. Overnight in a hotel in HCMC.
Enjoy a delightful breakfast at the hotel. The day is free for you to explore and indulge in your own leisurely activities. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
